Let Music Define Us
I have decided there is a song for every possible situation you could be in (regarding relationship status). I believe that is why girls connect with Taylor Swift so well, her songs allow you to put yourself in the situation that she is singing about, and most girls can relate to them. Which brings me to my next point, songs that you can relate to us are often songs that we gravitate more twoards. Now this is not true with all songs, you might like a song that is "a club banger" and yeah you probably can relate to "everybody in the club getting tipsy" but that's not what I am talking about. I am talking about the music that defines you, the songs that you listen to and they hit a weak spot, and you think "I know exactly how that feels". So, when you have a song that you can relate to think about the ending of that song, what is the turn out of that situation? Does Taylor Swift's lyrics become another option when making your decisions? Should we let music literally define us?

I feel this way almost every time I listen to music, the exception being most rap music, because I cannot always identify with slangin dope and bus'n caps. But for the most part songs really do have a personal meaning to you, because they are more of an open ended interpretation rather than a set situation. For me, music has the rather intense power to bring me up, or sink me way down. What I mean by that is that music is happening simultaneously with your life. Certain songs can catapult you back in time to when that song was popular, or popular to you. Whether that time was good or bad, their power is unbelievable. So I do not think we should let music define us. I think that it Does define us. When I cannot find the words or actions to properly express what I am trying to say, into my library I go, where chords and melodies mesh together into the perfect puppet for my exhausted intellect.
